Community of San Elijo Hills
Located in the highest point of San Diego North County, San Elijo Hills has been planned as a complete community. Within a small town atmosphere, San Elijo Hills offers expansive views and cooling ocean breezes. It's pedestrian oriented community where urban amenities compliment a wide range of neighborhoods, from single family homes and townhomes to gated community estates.
The heart of the community includes and upcoming central urban business district built around a traditional Town Square, new schools, a 19 acre park and community center. The Town Center plan includes shopping, dining and other community serving amenities. An 18-mile system of hiking trails connects the neighborhoods to the town center and to over 1,115 acres of open space. All of these features have been designed to work together, inspired by the spirit of small towns found throughout America.
The goal of the San Elijo Hills community plan is to achieve a balance of nature, comfort, convenience and value. San Elijo Hills enjoys the fruits of a recent development renaissance. This community oriented, town-building approach offers the homeowners the convenience of nearby amenities, the enjoyment of the natural environment and the neighborly atmosphere consistent with older, established communities.
With over 1,115 acres devoted to preserving open space, San Elijo provides a sensible natural balance between development and preservation. Over 50% of the land is dedicated to permanent open space. Eighteen miles of walking and hiking trails wind through the community, offering breathtaking ocean and canyon views at every turn. Throughout the trail system are unique “discovery points” to help create a sense of adventure. Enjoy breathtaking vistas of the Pacific Ocean, local canyons, and follow the graceful soaring of a Red-tail hawk. Just step out your front door, and explore.
